1. Introduction
1.1 Tournament Organizers
Tournaments using this website (the “Tournament”) is organized and administered by the tournament administrative organization (collectively the “Tournament Administration”) that consists of the host: JCG Co., Ltd., the cooperative company: The Pokémon Company, and its subcontractors.
By participating in this tournament, you are deemed to have agreed to the tournament rules described below (hereinafter referred to as the "Tournament Rules").
The term “Round” refers to a 10 minutes online battle of the game. The term “Match” refers to a collection of rounds that decides the winning team.
The tournament administration reserves the right to decide on any issues that are not covered by the tournament rules, or that would result in a significant lack of fairness by applying the tournament rules.
1.2 Supported Countries
The tournament provides service to teams with all the players, including the leaders and sub-leaders, living in one of the following countries/regions.
a. Brunei Darussalam
b. Cambodia
c. Chinese Taipei
d. Hong Kong
e. Indonesia
f. Japan
g. Lao People's Democratic Republic
h. Malaysia
i. Philippines
j. Republic of Korea
k. Singapore
l. Thailand
2. Version and Platform
The game and version to be used in the tournament shall be the latest version of Pokémon UNITE (the “Game”) for Nintendo Switch or smartphone.
3. Team and Trainer Name
Team and trainer names must not fall under the following prohibited conditions. If team or trainer names violate the following conditions, the tournament administration reserves the right to edit the team and trainer names. A player must change their trainer name if given instructions by the tournament administration. Any costs incurred through this process shall be borne by the player.
a. Team and trainer names may not include any words protected by third-party rights without written permission.
b. Team and trainer names may not include any names similar to or match any brand name.
c. Team and trainer names may not include any names that resemble or match a real person’s name, except for the person himself.
d. Team and trainer names may not include any words that violate the law or public order and morals.
e. Team and trainer names may not include any words that contain elements of commercial names (e.g. product names), slander, derision, aggression, obscenity, indecency, incitement to hatred, or bad manners. It is also a violation to use alternative spellings, meaningless strings, or incorrect spellings to circumvent the above conditions.
f. In addition to the above, the tournament administration reserves the right to expand, change, or replace the above conditions if deemed necessary.
4. Submission of Evidence
If a player wishes to make any kind of report to the tournament administration, the player must take a picture of the game screen and submit it as evidence. Reports without evidence and the consent of the opponent may be invalid.
If a player raises an objection to the decision of the tournament administration without a valid reason and interferes with the progress of the tournament, the tournament administration may impose penalties on the player as described in the penalty section of the rule book.
5. Gaming Environment
5.1 Device and Internet Environment
The players are responsible for their devices and the internet environment.
6. Personal Live Stream
Anyone recording or streaming matches in the tournament must comply with the “Pokémon UNITE Game Content Guidelines for Online Platforms” stipulated by The Pokémon Company.
The players broadcasting the tournament must add a 5 minutes delay to the stream. If a player is unable to add a 5 minutes delay, the player needs to stop streaming. The tournament administration may instruct the streaming player to stop streaming or to insert delays. No restrictions for opening the recordings of personal broadcasts to the public.
7. Penalties
a. If the tournament administration judges that a player has violated the tournament rules, the tournament administration may give the player the following penalties.
- Level 1: The tournament administration gives a warning to the player and the team.
- Level 2: The player’s team loses the round.
- Level 3: The player’s team loses the match.
- Level 4: One-month ban from participating in future official tournaments
- Level 5:Three-month ban from participating in future official tournaments
- Level 6:Six-month ban from participating in future official tournaments
- Level 7:Permanent ban from future official tournaments
b. The tournament administration reserves the right to decide the following penalties above or below the appropriate level by comprehensively considering the maliciousness and severity of the impact.
c. The tournament administration may announce the penalties given on the official website.
8. Prohibited Items
Any of the following actions, or actions that may lead to such actions, are prohibited.
The tournament administration will impose penalties at its sole discretion for actions that fall under the prohibited items.
8.1 Regulations
a. Not following the match format specified in the tournament regulations is prohibited.
1)Level 1~3 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
b. Not following the decision of re-round as specified in the tournament regulations is prohibited.

8.2 Unethical Behavior
a. Engaging in or encouraging discriminatory, hateful, obscene, physically dangerous, criminal, illegal, or otherwise objectionable behavior (e.g., cheating) is prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
b. Unethical behavior or ungentlemanly behavior are prohibited.
1)Level 1~3 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
8.3 Unauthorized Programs and Suspicion of Using
If it's easy to tell that a team or player is using unauthorized programs, as soon as the tournament admin staff confirms it, the team or player in question will be disqualified from the tournament, and the tournament penalty described below will be imposed.
If it's hard to tell, the progress of the tournament may be halted for a long period of time; therefore, priority shall be given to the progress of the tournament and no decision shall be made in the middle of the tournament.
After the tournament is over, the tournament administration will accept the application, including the submission of evidence (videos, etc.). The tournament administration will verify and judge the submitted evidence, and penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
The verification shall be limited to the play during the tournament.
a. Tampering with the application of the game through the use of unauthorized third-party software or other technical methods (bots, mods, hacking, scripts, etc.) is prohibited.
1)Level 5~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
b. Acts that may cause malfunctions, bugs, or other problems with the game server are prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
c. Installing the application of the game excessively and unnecessarily on a large number of devices is prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
c. Development of unauthorized programs, tools, applications, or any other programs regardless of name for improper use of the game is prohibited. Providing such programs to others, or allowing others to use such programs are also prohibited.
1)Level 5~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
d. Alteration (including falsification of data), modification, adaptation, creation of secondary works, decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or any other similar acts of the data on the game are prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
e. Causing others to perform or encouraging others to perform any of the aforementioned actions is prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
f. Any action that assists or facilitates another person in performing any of the aforementioned actions is prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
g.Tournament participation using emulator is prohibited.
1)Level 2~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
8.4 Interfere Tournament Progress
a. It’s prohibited to disconnect the internet, or force close the game on purpose.
1)Level 3~6 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
b. Refusing to follow instructions or requests from the tournament administration that are necessary for the tournament to proceed is prohibited. Intentionally interfering with the operation of the tournament is also prohibited.
1)Level 1~5 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
c. Intentionally responding inappropriately to questions from the tournament administration is prohibited. Making false declarations to the tournament administration is also prohibited.
1)Level 1~5 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
d. Applicants for 1-person entry and 2~3-person entry who have checked in but can not be contacted.
1)Level 3 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
8.5 Others
a. Relationships with antisocial forces (meaning organized crime groups, organized crime group members, organized crime group associate members, organized crime group related companies, corporate extortionists, socially motivated criminal groups, politically motivated criminal groups, special intelligent violent groups, or other similar groups), or persons who have close relationships with antisocial forces are prohibited.
1)Level 7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
b. Using another player's account to participate in the tournament is prohibited. (ringer use)
1)Level 2~5 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
c. Playing shoddy or deliberately working to lose a game is prohibited. (match-fixing)
1)Level 2~5 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
d. Making any promises to opponents, other players, or third parties regarding the content of the match is prohibited.
1)Level 2~5 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
d. Using words or taking actions on SNS that may bring discredit to the tournament or the game is prohibited.
1)Level 1~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
e. Disclosing information about the tournament that is not available to the public without permission from the tournament administration is prohibited.

f. Conducting PR activities for a specific company or product without the permission of the tournament administration, using the means of communication managed by the tournament administration is prohibited.

g. Gambling on the tournament by any person is prohibited.
1)Level 4~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
h. Using a third party to perform any of the above or similar actions is prohibited.
1)Level 4~7 penalties will be imposed according to the situation.
9. General
9.1 Disclaimer
The tournament administration reserves the right to postpone or suspend matches or the tournament in the event of unavoidable circumstances, such as problems with the game or game equipment, or natural disasters. The tournament administration will not be liable to the players for any damage or disadvantage caused by the postponement or suspension of the tournament due to force majeure that is not the responsibility of the tournament administration. In addition, the tournament management will not be held responsible for any damage or disadvantage caused by problems between players or by players violating the tournament rules.
9.2 Handling of Personal Information
Personal information shall be handled under the privacy policy stipulated by JCG Co., Ltd.
The players must acknowledge that their in-game names may be used in videos, websites, publicity materials related to the tournament, news reports, and information media created by the tournament administration or third parties commissioned by the tournament administration.
The tournament administration will use the personal information obtained through the tournament only for the management and communication of the tournament and related events, and will not use it for any other purpose.
9.3 Maintaining Confidential Information
Players must not disclose any confidential information obtained through the contract with the tournament administration without the permission of the tournament administration, except for the information listed below.
The information must not be used for any purpose other than the performance of this contract.
a.Information developed independently by the players
b.Information that was already known to the public at the time it was acquired
c.Information that becomes public knowledge or use through no fault of the players after it has been acquired
d.Information disclosed by a third party with legitimate rights without obligation of confidentiality
The provisions of this article shall remain in effect after the conclusion of this tournament.
10 Changes to the Tournament Rules
The tournament administration reserves the right to change the tournament rules.
The tournament administration will notify each team of any changes to the tournament rules, and announce them through the official website and other means.
The revised tournament rules will take effect from the time of the announcement in the previous paragraph.
